Happy, Wonderful Monday!!
Over the weekend, I watched several television programs and Facebook posts that emphasized the importance of community, working together and serving others. It reminded me that it is not all about me. We are all guilty of becoming so focus on our goals, our agenda, and our problems. Or maybe you struggle with the tension between the honorable desire to ensure the safety, financial security and wellbeing of family and the desire to serve others. Yet, there is a larger world out there and so many opportunities to make a difference, and do good! So today, take a moment to step away from being self-focused, and make difference in someone’s life, or perform a good deed. This can happen right where you are. As always, it does not have to be some tremendous, earth shattering act. Sometimes paying for a co-worker’s coffee can make a big difference in their day, how they are feeling about life and their hope in humanity.
“The best cure for weariness is the challenge of helping someone who is even more tired. One of the great ironies of life is this: He or she who serves almost always benefits more than he or she who is served.”
-Gordon B. Hinckley
